Planning:
Your Cumar Sales Specialist is responsible for helping you select and coordinate all items that would fall into the "choices" category. These include type and color of stone, type of edge, type of backsplash treatment.
Estimating: (get a free quote here)
Specifications that come out of the planning phase are used to provide a written estimate to you. If the specifications are final and if you accept the estimate, you will be asked to sign a Job Confirmation that will be passed to Cumar's scheduling department for coordination with production.
Scheduling:
Once you have a Job Confirmation, the countertop project goes through the production steps of tear out, templating, fabrication and installation. Our scheduling department is responsible for making sure these phases are properly coordinated with you.
Tear Out:
If you have not contracted with a carpenter or construction specialist to have your old cabinets removed, we can arrange for this service for you. Before templating all old cabinets, countertops and backsplashes must be removed. Please let us know if you require this service prior to estimating.
Templating:
In the templating process, we make a pattern of your cabinets. During this phase a) all sinks/cooktops/faucets are checked for compatibility and fit (therefore all such units must be on-site ), b) final judgment on seam placement is made, c) cabinets are reviewed for any adjustments required, and d) points related to overhang, general support and any personal preferences are discussed. Any refinements needed to cabinetry, etc., which will be required prior to installation of your countertops will be discussed with you. Cumar can assist you in completing that work.
Fabrication:
Just prior to the fabrication phase, our Scheduling Department will make an appointment with you to visit our facility to review and approve the material for your project. Your final job specifications will also be reviewed and you will be asked for your final approval of those specifications during your visit. A final quote of all costs will also be provided for your review, confirmation and FINAL approval. This will be your last opportunity to make changes before the actual fabrication phase begins.
After all materials and specifications have been reviewed, approved and confirmed, your project is assigned to a team of fabricators and released for production.
Installation:
The installation phase can take the better part of a day (our Scheduling Department will advise you as to how much time you should estimate for installation) and can require some final cutouts to be made in your home. Some dust can result even though our installers are equipped to catch the majority of the it.
When the installation crew arrives, the lead installer will review the installation with you, answer any questions you may have.
During installation, your undermount sink(s), if applicable, will be mounted under your stone. Also, cooktops and faucets, etc. will be dropped into place for confirmation of fit.
Final Steps:
Your inspection of the finished job is very important. We will ask you to inspect our work and let us know if you are satisfied. We are not done until you are fully satisfied with your new project.
Plumbing connections and cooktop hookup can occur 48 hours after your countertop installation.
